Fin Not too bad Vermentino 2023
Situated on the lands of the Taungurung people of the Kulin Nation, who are the traditional owners and custodians of the land. Another Box Grove gem here, grown on the red soils of the Nagambie Lakes region. Very well suited to the warmer climate in Tabilk. The granite sand over layers of ancient river gravel really gives this wine minerality and complexity.Bit more concentration of flavour here after a tricky season of flooding in the region. With increased disease pressure, yields were much lower than usual. A nice mix of leaner fruit, offering green apple, lemon, lime and that bright crunchy acidity we love at Fin. The riper fruit offering fleshier fruit – papaya, pear and melon. Underlying all this you get a touch of salinity with a slate-like minerality. Close your eyes and you can taste the spray from a waterfall bouncing off large granite boulders in a tropical paradise.Pressed straight to old oak No skin contact here Full malolactic fermentation Elevage on full lees for 5 months
