Another vegan cake - and this one we do quite often.  Its that classic ginger, all spice flavour that makes biscoff so delicious.  Vegan biscoff buttercream all around and through the middle adds extra decadence to this beauty.

A Retrospective in Ink by Millie Woods is a collaboration between Millie and MND Victoria. 

Round Bird Artspace is absolutely thrilled to be able to present Millie's work and her story.

The exhibition runs from June 1st to July 29th in the upstairs gallery.

I think if we took the chilli scrambles off the menu, a lynch mob would descend on us.  The hero of this dish is the chilli jam.  Made with first principles, laura finely chops all the garlic, galangal, onion, chilli etc and then fries it all, adding palm sugar and shrimp paste among a whole lot of other things, before cooking it out low and slow for absolutely ages. 

Its definitely not an economical jam to make thats for sure - we don't get much at the end.  But what we do get is phenomenal. 

Pro-tip:  If your even in getting a ham and cheese croissant, ask for chilli jam as well.

I absolutely love this cake!  It is all glossy on top from the passionfruit, crunchy on the sides from the toasted coconut, and delicious all round. 

Probably wont win any beauty pageants, buts its what's on the inside that counts!

Those chilly evenings and frosty breathed mornings have finally arrived!  Honestly I'm quite pleased, I love the sunlight but not the heat that comes with it! 

My coffee desire grows in proportionate response to how cold it is, and I love a early morning pick me up - don't we all?

I've had this one a few times now and its wonderfully soft, warming, buttery, comforting, delicious.  The tortellini are handmade on premise (of course), the sage is from our backyard, as are the edible flowers.  The beurre noisette (brown butter) is unctuous and moreish - but probably a good think we don't use too much.  It's just a classic, warm-hearted pasta dish that speaks of authentic products done in house with love, which is what we are about. 
 
Would go amazingly with our current chardonnay by the glass (Dalla Mia Finestra).

Tillie J Rose 2024, a really bright, carbonic style rose with lots of candied red berries, rosewater florals and a dry crisp finish.  Wonderful wine to see out the last of the Yarra Valley Sunsets from your back yard.
